I joined the ELI as an Associate Faculty member in 2012 after a career in sales and marketing, including jobs at IBM and Davis Instruments, where I was the director of the International Division. Working with international customers, along with my experience in graduate school, inspired me to become an ESOL teacher. My background as an exchange student in France and as a professional in global business helps me to identify with the challenges and goals of my students. I was awarded 2019 Maryland Teacher of the Year for Higher Education.
I earned a B.A. in International Relations with a Minor in French from the University of Delaware, an M.A. in Intercultural Communication from UMBC and a Post Baccalaureate Certificate in TESOL from UMBC. Also, I recently completed the TESOL Training the Trainers course in preparation for the Zambia trip.
