While language teachers engage with varied language assessment related tasks, even experienced teachers find language assessment theory, language assessment development, and rubric development challenging. This workshop will introduce language assessment theory and guide language teachers can navigate the theory in developing and using language assessment. Based on links between language assessment theory and practices, this workshop will provide hands-on experience to develop a rubric for performance assessment.
Jiyoon Lee is an assistant professor of TESOL at UMBC. Her research and teaching interests include second language development, language assessment, and teacher education.
