Most SLA approaches suggest hands-on materials to support ELLs’ language, literacy, and content development. Often, authors of these approaches do not provide empirical results to support some of their suggestions. This presentation will share findings from a PD program which attempted to increase teachers’ use of oral language development strategies in content lessons. The first half of this presentation will report on the classroom tools that were found to promote students’ oral language development in most significant ways. In the second half, participants will interact with these tools.
