Reflections: Voices of English Learners 2019 will be available for the attendees and adult students from LCFC will read and discuss their stories. The presenter will share her teaching methods used in her Writing Classes at the Literacy Council of Frederick County. A list of relevant books used in the Writing Class will be included in the discussion. Participants will be given graphic organizers and writing scaffolding to discuss and to elicit their own personal narrative. Writing prompts will be suggested and also generated from the participants using Picture Books to inspire them.

Catherine Coundjeris holds an M.A. in Children’s Literature and an M.F.A. in Creative Writing.  Currently she teaches ESL Writing and Conversation at the Literacy Council of Frederick County where she is also an ESL Coordinator
