Presentation will include videos of question and answer with student whose father was detained and deported. (Consent has been given). Student will share the experience from her perspective and will share what her teachers did that was helpful. Student will also share what would have been more helpful that was not done by her teachers. Strategies will be shared on working with students whose parents have been detained and/or deported.
Lisa Sanchez is a National Board teacher who has been in the field for over fifteen years. She currently is teaching in Anne Arundel County. She holds a Masters in TESOL and another in Administration.
