ESL teachers reach students from different cultures and languages, and Deaf students coming into the ESL classroom will bring their own language and cultural background with them. This workshop provides teachers with practical suggestions on interacting with Deaf students and interpreters along with effective methods of supporting Deaf students in the ESL classroom. Naomi is a full-time ESL instructor at the award-winning English Language Center at Howard Community College. She currently teaches comprehensive, grammar, conversation, and reading and vocabulary courses.
