Language learning is challenging and often involves failures. Teachers can raise students’ language learning self-efficacy by developing growth mindset and grit.

In this session, the presenters will outline practical classroom activities for developing growth mindset and grit in students, including deliberate practice, self-regulated learning, hierarchical goal-setting, explicit instruction of neuroplasticity, self-reflection, and positive self-talk. Attendees will leave with practical activities they can implement in their classes to develop language learning perseverance in their students.
